Data Analysis School 2025–2026

Yalova University is pleased to announce the Data Analysis School, organised with the contribution of world-renowned academics from Turkey's leading universities. The programme is open to everyone and free of charge; placement limited.
Programme Summary

• Number of Modules: 6 (participants can choose the modules that suit them)

• Participation: Open to everyone (limited by quota)
Modules
1. Basic Statistics
Data and variable types; data entry, editing, and visualisation with Excel, SPSS, and R; chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA, correlation; regression models; clustering.
2. Computational Social Sciences
Natural language processing (NLP) fundamentals and applications; network analysis; spatial data analysis and GIS; text processing with Python; data visualisation.
3. Panel Data Analysis
Cross-sectional data analysis with the R survey package; regression with cross-sectional data; endogeneity problem; fixed and random effects; regression applications with panel data.
4. Artificial Intelligence
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI); large language models (LLM); machine learning algorithms (SVM, Random Forest, Naive Bayes); classification/clustering with regression; RAG systems and artificial intelligence agents.
5. Digital Humanities
Text mining; NLP; spatial data analysis and GIS; data visualisation; digital resource processing; network analysis; digital history.
6. Psychometrics
Validity and reliability in measurement tools; Rasch models; item response theory (IRT); multidimensional scale development.
