1st International Symposium on Social Research: Current Family Studies Have Begun!

Our symposium, organised at our university as part of the 2025 Year of the Family and addressing current family studies, has begun with strong participation!

The programme was attended by our Rector Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Deputy Governor İdil Özdemir Doğan, our Vice Rectors, provincial institution directors, representatives of civil society organisations, our university's academic and administrative staff, students and members of the press.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by the Honorary President of the Symposium and our Rector, Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı.

Following the opening, Psychiatrist/Author Dr. Mustafa Merter addressed the participants.

After the plaque presentation, the first session of the symposium was successfully completed.

Throughout the symposium, the following topics will be addressed by expert academics, public representatives, and civil society stakeholders:

* Family policies

* The effects of digitalisation on family structure

* Best practice examples

Family will be discussed in Yalova over two days through scientific sessions, panels, and best practice examples.
