The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Plan (İRAP) 2027–2031 Workshop, organised with the aim of making Yalova a more resilient and safer city in the face of disasters, was held under the leadership of the Yalova Governor’s Office, with the contribution of the Yalova University Centre for Emergency and Disaster Management Applications and Research, and hosted by Yalova University.
The workshop was attended by the Governor of Yalova, Dr Ahmet Hamdi Usta; the Rector of Yalova University, Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı; the Mayor of Yalova, Mehmet Gürel; the Head of the Earthquake and Risk Reduction Department at AFAD, Abdulkadir Tezcan; and representatives from public institutions, local authorities, universities and civil society organisations.
The workshop addressed initiatives aimed at assessing Yalova’s disaster risks, mitigating existing risks, strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and enhancing the city’s resilience to disasters.
