The Tourism and Hotel Management Programme and the Culinary Arts Programme, conducted under the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services within the Yalova Vocational Highschool of Yalova University, were evaluated by TURAK (Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board) as part of the accreditation process.
During the field visit held between 24 and 27 October 2025, the external evaluation team examined the programmes' education and training processes, physical facilities, quality assurance mechanisms, student support systems, management structures and stakeholder collaborations on site.
As part of the visit, separate meetings were held with academic and administrative staff, students, graduates, industry representatives, and external stakeholders. The meetings evaluated the learning outcomes of the programmes, their alignment with industry needs, practical training activities, internship processes, Erasmus+ mobility, and social contribution activities.
Throughout the field visit, educational environments were observed on site by visiting application areas, kitchen laboratories, classrooms, and student living areas. Information was shared about the programmes' student-centred education approach, quality culture, and sustainable tourism vision.
The visit concluded with a closing meeting held by the evaluation team. During the meeting, general observations were conveyed, and feedback was provided on the programmes' efforts to strengthen their quality culture and their continuous improvement-oriented approach.
Our Vocational Highschool considers the TURAK accreditation process to be an important step towards institutional development, quality assurance, and the goal of training qualified human resources in the field of tourism.
