An orientation programme for students was organised at Yalova University between 29 September and 2 October, coordinated by the Education and Teaching Coordination Office.

This year, the opening of the fourth orientation programme commenced with a speech by the University Rector, Prof. Mehmet BAHÇEKAPILI, followed by speeches from the Vice-Rector, Prof. Senay Yürür KARSLIOĞLU. Subsequently, the Student Affairs Directorate, the International Relations Coordination Office, the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate, the Career Centre Coordination Office, and the Education and Teaching Coordination Office delivered presentations to first-year students to provide information about the University.

Approximately 1,766 of the 2,800 first-year students who enrolled at our university in the 2025-2026 academic year participated in the programme, which also included information about the student representation system provided by the University Student Representative. Information and guidance were provided to newly enrolled students to help them adapt to university life, familiarise themselves with the academic, social and cultural environment, and make a quick and smooth start to university life. The programme began at the Mehmet Okul Culture and Congress Centre and was then held in a total of eight sessions, separately at the buildings of the Vocational Schools. During the programme, our Rector, Prof. Mehmet BAHÇEKAPILI, personally wished our students a successful academic life.

As part of the event, new students were informed about the university's academic and administrative procedures and were provided with support for their adaptation process. Following the programme, during which members of the Yalova Provincial Police Directorate provided valuable information on ensuring student safety, 732 students participated in a satisfaction survey and provided feedback on the process.
