Orientation Programme Held at Yalova University’s Faculty of Medicine

Students at Yalova University’s Faculty of Medicine were briefed on the faculty’s academic and educational processes as part of the Orientation Programme organised ahead of the 2026–2027 academic year.

Organised for students who will begin their studies this year for the first time in the Faculty’s own Morphology Building in Yalova, the programme included an introduction to the faculty and laboratories, as well as information on the course registration process and teaching and learning procedures.

The programme, held in our university’s 15 July Conference Hall, was attended by our Rector, Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı; our Vice-Rector, Prof. Serdar Geri; the Yalova Provincial Director of Health, Specialist Dr Ömer Halim Kaşıkçı; the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Vefik Arıca; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Nurşah Başol; Chief Physician of Yalova Training and Research Hospital Dr Seçkin Özcan, lecturers and students.

As part of the programme, informative talks for the students were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Nurşah Başol, the Yalova Provincial Health Director, Specialist Dr Ömer Halim Kaşıkçı, and our Rector, Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı. This was followed by an opening lecture entitled ‘The Art of Medicine’, delivered by the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Vefik Arıca.

In addition, gifts were presented to the students who secured places in the top three positions at the Faculty of Medicine in recognition of their achievements.

Ahead of the new academic year, our students had the opportunity to meet with the Faculty’s academic staff and management to gain information on topics they were curious about regarding their academic life at the Faculty of Medicine.

We wish all our students and academic and administrative staff a successful, productive and enjoyable academic year at our Faculty of Medicine.
