Among the projects eligible for support under the 2025 Anatolia Rural Development Financial Support Programme run by the Eastern Marmara Development Agency (MARKA), a project submitted by Yalova University was also included. According to a statement made by the Eastern Marmara Development Agency, a total of 65 projects were submitted to the Agency under the programme, and 23 projects were found to be successful after the evaluation process.
The project titled ‘Strengthening Rural Development through Traditional Cheese Production from Yalova Kıvırcık Sheep Milk’, submitted on behalf of the Armutlu Vocational School of Yalova University, was included in the final list of projects eligible for support following the evaluations. The project will be implemented in line with the objectives of supporting rural development in the TR42 Region, strengthening local production, and contributing to regional development.
The project is being led by Lecturer Ahmet Gökhan Keskin, a member of the teaching staff at Yalova University Armutlu Vocational School. It aims to develop traditional cheese production processes using Kıvırcık sheep milk specific to Yalova, support local producers, and increase economic sustainability in rural areas.
The project is expected to contribute to the preservation of Yalova's local agricultural values, the dissemination of traditional production methods, and the sustainability of rural development.
