The Tourism and Hotel Management Programme and the Culinary Arts Programme within Yalova University’s Yalova Vocational School, have been awarded a 6-year full accreditation certificate by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council (TURAK), which is authorised by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) in the field of tourism.
Following the evaluation process, both programmes were found to have met the required standards in terms of educational quality, industry collaboration, practical training infrastructure, academic competence and continuous improvement efforts, leading to the decision to grant full accreditation.
The accreditation certificates and plaque were presented to Rector Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı by TURAK Board Member Prof. Mehmet SARIIŞIK.
The ceremony was attended by Yalova University Rector Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Vice-Rector Prof. Senay Yürür Karslıoğlu, Director of Yalova Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Cumali Çelik, Head of the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department Dr. Lecturer Yasin Özaslan, Head of the Culinary Arts Programme Lecturer Mehmet Emin Tura, Deputy Director of Yalova Vocational School and Head of the Tourism and Hotel Management Programme Lecturer Çağrı Dilmen, and academic staff members Lecturer Arzu Güzel Çakmak, Lecturer Dr Gülsüm Yurtseven and Lecturer Dr Fatih Taşpınar.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı stated that this achievement was a significant indicator of the university’s quality-focused approach to education and expressed his gratitude to the academic and administrative staff involved.
Officials stated that Yalova University would continue to raise quality standards in the field of tourism education, emphasising that this accreditation would make significant contributions to students’ professional competence and to educational processes integrated with the industry.
