The Department of Business Administration Has Been Accredited for a Period of Four Years by STAR

The Department of Business Administration, operating within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Yalova University, has achieved a significant milestone. Following an evaluation process conducted by the Social, Human and Basic Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association (STAR), the Business Administration (Turkish) and Business Administration (English) undergraduate programmes have been accredited for a period of four years, valid from 11 March 2026 to 11 March 2030.

This development not only demonstrates that the programmes meet specific quality standards but also represents a significant outcome of the planned, systematic and continuous improvement efforts that have been ongoing within the Department of Business Administration at Yalova University for some time.

This accreditation holds particular significance for Yalova University. Not only is this the first time a bachelor’s degree programme has been accredited in the university’s history, but the Business Administration (Turkish) and Business Administration (English) programmes are also the first bachelor’s degree programmes to be accredited both within the faculty and across the university as a whole.

During the accreditation process, numerous aspects were evaluated in detail, including programme learning outcomes, curriculum structure, assessment and evaluation practices, academic staff competence, a student-centred approach, stakeholder participation, and continuous improvement mechanisms. This outcome clearly demonstrates the importance Yalova University’s Department of Business Administration places on educational quality and its commitment to institutional development.

In his assessment of the accreditation success, the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Prof. Selami ÖZCAN, stated that this outcome was the result of collective effort and institutional harmony, and thanked all academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process. Prof. Selami ÖZCAN noted that accreditation would further strengthen the department’s educational quality and serve as a significant source of motivation for future initiatives.

Thanks to this accreditation, the quality of the educational environment offered to our students has been further enhanced, whilst also providing a significant quality assurance for our graduates’ academic and professional journeys. Furthermore, this development will contribute to the visibility and academic reputation of the Department of Business Administration at Yalova University at both national and international levels.

We congratulate all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this significant achievement and wish our students, graduates and the university every success.
