Yalova University took part in the EAIE 2026 (European Association for International Education) Conference and Exhibition—one of the key international gatherings in the field of higher education—in Glasgow, Scotland, and held extensive discussions aimed at developing international collaborations.
Yalova University was represented at the event by Rector Prof. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Vice-Rector Prof. Cahit Külekçi and International Relations Coordinator Oğuzhan Köse. During the event, the university delegation held dozens of bilateral meetings with representatives from universities and higher education institutions across various countries. As part of the programme, collaboration discussions were also held with various universities in Edinburgh and Manchester.
During the meetings, Yalova University’s academic structure, educational opportunities, Erasmus+ activities and internationalisation objectives were presented, whilst information was also provided on the potential of Yalova and Turkey in the field of international higher education. New opportunities for collaboration were explored, particularly regarding student and staff mobility, bilateral academic agreements, joint education and research activities, and Erasmus+ project partnerships.
As a result of these contacts, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with various universities, laying the foundations for new collaborations regarding Erasmus+ mobility, joint projects and academic work.
The Yalova University delegation also held review meetings with its existing international partners to discuss ongoing collaborations. During these meetings, views were exchanged on developing existing Erasmus+ mobility programmes, increasing the number of participants, and implementing new joint projects.
Through the discussions held and agreements signed as part of EAIE 2026 in Glasgow, Yalova University took significant steps towards its objectives of expanding its international partnership network, enhancing its Erasmus+ project capacity, diversifying student and staff mobility, and strengthening its international visibility.
