Yalova University Represented at Plast Eurasia Istanbul 2025 Fair

One of the major gatherings of the plastics industry, the world's second largest plastics fair, Plast Eurasia Istanbul 2025, took place at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Centre. Yalova University participated in the event by attending the opening ceremony with a speech delivered by our Vice-Rector Prof. Senay Yürür Karslıoğlu. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, PAGEV Board Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu, and Tüyap Fairs Construction Inc. General Manager İlhan Ersözlü also delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

In her opening speech, Prof. Senay Yürür Karslıoğlu highlighted the production capacity and export growth of the Turkish plastics sector, emphasising that this development could be sustained with qualified human resources. Stating that the field of Polymer Materials Engineering constitutes a critical expertise for the sector, Prof. Yürür shared Yalova University's education and research activities in this field.

Prof. Yürür stated that the Polymer Materials Engineering Department has produced over 450 graduates for the sector since 2009 and that these graduates were quickly employed in various industrial fields. She mentioned that the department's academic staff, laboratory infrastructure, and industry collaborations contribute to the sector.

The Head of the Polymer Materials Engineering Department, Prof. Hamit Erdemi, and the Assistant R&D Coordinator, Prof. Gökhan Temel, also attended the fair. The delegation held discussions with industry companies on project development and R&D collaborations. In addition to Polymer Materials Engineering students, faculty members and students from the Vocational School's Materials Processing Technologies Department also attended the fair. Students had the opportunity to examine current technologies, production processes, and new material applications in the sector firsthand.

This visit not only supported the students' theoretical knowledge but also contributed to their direct contact with the sector.
