Prof. Dr. Cahit KÜLEKÇİ

Vice Rector - Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences

He was born in 1974 in Kahramanmaraş. He graduated from Adana Imam-Hatip High School in 1993 and Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Theology in 1998. In 2001, Külekçi started to work as a research assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Theology and completed his master's degree with his thesis titled "Armenians in the Ottoman Empire" in 2003 and his doctorate with his thesis on "Istanbul Armenians" in 2009. In 2011, Külekçi was appointed as an assistant professor at İnönü University Faculty of Theology, and in 2016 he received the title of "Associate Professor" in the field of Islamic History and Arts. In 2021, Külekçi, who started to work as a "Professor" at Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Department of Islamic History, has been working as the Dean of Yalova University Faculty of Islamic Sciences as of 1 August 2022 and as the Vice Rector as of 10.11.2023.
