Artificial Intelligence was discussed at the Department of Social Work Science Festival
Within the scope of the 12th Science Festival organised by Yalova University Social Work Department students, Hatice Hale Yurttabir was the main speaker at the event where innovative approaches in the field of social work were discussed. Yurttabir, a student of Yalova University Social Work PhD Programme, discussed the effects of artificial intelligence on social work practices and education with her presentation titled ‘Where is Artificial Intelligence Running?’
In his presentation, Yurttabir comprehensively evaluated the effects of artificial intelligence on the social work profession and drew attention to the opportunities of technology and the ethical responsibilities it brings with it. In the presentation, the potential of artificial intelligence in meeting the needs of disadvantaged groups, innovative tools used in social work education and the place of artificial intelligence in professional practices were discussed.
Answering questions from students during the event, Yurttabir explained with examples how artificial intelligence can be used as a support mechanism for social work professionals. The importance of the use of digital tools, especially in the field of social work education, and the role of these tools in facilitating access to professional knowledge were emphasised.
The Science Festival once again demonstrated the importance of such activities that aim to increase the interest of social work students in scientific and technological developments. Enriched by the valuable contributions of Hatice Hale Yurttabir, this event opened new horizons about the future of social work.
