Our Rector attended the Western Black Sea Universities Association Consultation Meeting
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı attended the Western Black Sea Universities Association Consultative Meeting hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.
At the meeting held with the participation of Presidential Advisor Saadet Oruç the following members of the Association took part: Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Rector of Bartın University Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, Rector of Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı, Rector of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı, Rector of Çankırı Karatekin Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi, Rector of Gebze Technical University Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Rector of Karabük University Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık, Rector of Kastamonu University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Rector of Kocaeli University Prof. Dr. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, Rector of Kocaeli Health and Technology University Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Rector of Sinop University Prof. Dr. Şakir Taşdemir.
The Western Black Sea Universities Association Consultative Meeting continued with the member university rectors discussing the agenda items. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to hold a congress on the relevant subject based on the successful completion of the ‘Workshop on Combating Violence against Women and Children’ held at Bülent Ecevit University on 23 November 2024. A mutual cooperation protocol was signed between the member universities of the Western Black Sea Universities Association for the joint realisation of the workshop and various academic activities that can be held within the scope in order to raise social awareness about violence against women and children. It was agreed that the first congress to be held on this subject will be hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. At the meeting, a protocol on cooperation between the libraries of the member universities of the Union was also signed. It was also agreed to cooperate in the studies to be carried out on artificial intelligence between member universities. Within the scope of the Western Black Sea Universities Union Consultative Meeting, after Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, Rector of BARU, who completed his current term presidency, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Rector of Kastamonu University, was unanimously elected as the term president.
